• The Ladies Section of Cathcart Castle Golf Club chose Cochrane Castle Golf Club for their annual outing this year, and we were so glad we did. Right from the first call I had with the Club Secretary Joseph I knew we were in good hands.  He offered us excellent rates, and suggested where we could have on course prizes (nearest pin, longest drive etc).  The food choices on offer were very tempting and not just usual golf club fare.  The Club then prepared a programme detailing the order of the day, using our Club logo and a message of welcome. 

  So when 46 ladies descended on Cochrane Castle on the hottest day of the year, we were given the warmest welcome by Joseph and Allyson.  After our coffee and hot rolls, the Pro had organised excellent deals on goodie bags before heading out.

  The course itself was in fantastic condition and proved challenging in the heat.  Our only suggestion would be that more signage is put on the course as it is not always obvious where to find the next tee. The layout of the course also lends itself to a shortened 12 holes, which suited some of our older members.

• It’s a gem of a course tucked away at the back of a scheme. You wouldn’t know it was there but it’s well worth searching out. The condition of the course even in the winter months when I played it was excellent. The greens were fantastic and true. A real credit to the green staff. Well worth a visit.
